  As the middle child of seven kids (half, step and otherwise), I know a thing or two about sibling squabbles. If it wasn’t “mom told you to do the dishes this time!” it was “that isn’t yours!” or “oh my god please stop embarrassing me”. But I had it easy compared to Arsinoe, Mirabella and Katherine, three triplets queens who, on their 16th birthdays, are destined to fight each other to the death for rights to the throne.

  We're now on Blog Lovin'!

  When Sarah and I were creating this blog, we researched a lot of hosting options. We loved the user friendly Wordpress, thought long and hard about the google backed blogger, but knew we wanted our own domain without spending huge sums every month. Luckily, I am in a relationship with a computer whiz who came up with a hosting solution that would allow us to have our own domain, full control over the look of our site, and best of all, it was free!

  Cafes of Japan: Hackberry

  Since moving to Japan 5 months ago I have been seriously missing my cafe dwelling! Back in Toronto I loved spending an afternoon at a café reading, writing, working – cafes just have wonderful atmospheres, I feel so very comfortable there! (Some of my favourite Toronto cafes are: Bobbette & Belle, Himalayan Java House, Early Bird Espresso and Brew Bar, and the one I can always count on no matter where I am in the city, Second Cup!)

  Even though Japan is incredible and has a lot to offer I still find myself missing cafes, so with the help of the Internet and by asking friends and co-workers for recommendations, I drew up a list of cool cafes to visit. I plan to go to them all, eventually! Hence my new series:

  I struggled a lot when it came to giving this book a grade. While The Forgetting had all the right pieces to make it a favourite of mine (I’m a sucker for science fiction and this one delivers in a surprising way), I found the pacing to be waaaaaay too slow.
